The Opportunity
A leading construction company is seeking a Director of Financial Reporting to oversee all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, and analysis. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence strategic decision-making, and play a critical role in the organization’s continued growth and success.
This position is well-suited for an experienced finance leader who thrives in a complex, fast-paced environment and is motivated to drive both accuracy and efficiency across financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and filing of all financial statements, including quarterly and annual reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Develop and implement financial reporting policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements
- Oversee compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, with a strong focus on IFRS
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to guide decision-making
- Direct the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial planning tools
- Manage and mentor the financial reporting team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, advisors, and regulators
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation strongly preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, ideally within construction, infrastructure, or a similarly complex industry
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and regulatory compliance requirements
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing high-performing finance teams
- Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
