The Opportunity
As Manager of Accounting, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations and play a critical role in strengthening processes, improving efficiency, and driving the company’s continued success. With a focus on financial accuracy, compliance, and leadership, this role is ideal for a CPA (or CPA candidate) who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys leading a team while also being hands-on with accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including AR, AP, payroll, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reporting packages
- Lead an efficient month-end close process
- Develop and implement new accounting processes and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Conduct variance analysis and provide meaningful commentary to support decision-making
- Ensure compliance with ASPE and private equity reporting standards
- Support vendor management and oversee accounts payable processes
- Oversee payroll operations, identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains
- Manage and mentor a small finance team, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are consistently met
- Maintain organized, accurate financial records and support audit and tax requirements
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation (or in process of obtaining)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of AR, AP, payroll, full-cycle accounting, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with ASPE and variance analysis
- Experience with QuickBooks and payroll systems; knowledge of process automation is an asset
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and proven track record of meeting deadlines
