The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a hands-on and detail-driven Assistant Controller to join a purpose-led organization at the forefront of sustainable production and environmental innovation. With operations across Canada and the U.S., this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact industry while helping build the financial infrastructure that supports long-term growth.


You’ll play a key leadership role within the finance team, taking ownership of reporting, process improvement, and month-end activities while contributing to systems implementations and audit readiness. If you’re a CPA with strong technical skills, experience in fast-moving environments, and a passion for building scalable processes, we’d love to hear from you.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own the financial reporting for the Canadian entity, ensuring accuracy and compliance under ASPE
  • Lead and streamline the month-end close process to under 10 days
  • Prepare for internal and external audits, including inventory audits and tax filings
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, banking, and treasury operations
  • Drive improvements in Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash workflows
  • Support ERP implementation and systems integration projects
  • Rebuild and lead a high-performing accounting team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operational leaders to improve financial visibility and controls


What You Bring

  • CPA designation with 5+ years in progressive accounting or controllership roles
  • Deep knowledge of ASPE, full-cycle accounting, and internal controls
  • Proven success in process improvement and system implementations (ERP experience a plus)
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas) and comfort with large data sets
  • Experience managing audits, treasury, and working capital
  • A collaborative approach and strong communication skills
  • Alignment with sustainability-driven values and a desire to make an impact
