The Opportunity:
Our client in the tech industry is seeking a seasoned Fractional / Interim Director of Finance to provide steady leadership across the finance function while the organization evaluates its long-term needs. This role is well-suited for a finance leader who thrives in dynamic, hands-on environments and can balance day-to-day execution with high-level oversight.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee month-end close and reconciliation processes, including review of work prepared by the Canadian Group Controller with support from the Mexico local Controller.
- Manage and enhance monthly financial reporting, delivering accurate and timely insights to leadership and preparing investor reporting packages.
- Lead multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation across Canada, the US, and Mexico.
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and ensure effective liquidity management.
- Safeguard the integrity of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Manage foreign exchange strategy and its impact on financial reporting.
- Partner with leadership to identify and implement process improvements across finance operations.
- Collaborate with external auditors and support the fiscal 2025 audit.
- Provide insights and recommendations that inform strategic decision-making.
- Leverage QuickBooks Online and other digital tools to maintain efficient, accurate finance processes.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (Director level or above).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.
- Demonstrated success in multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation (Canada, US, Mexico).
- Experience leading month-end close and reconciliation processes.
- Track record of preparing and presenting financial reporting packages to investors.
- Experience working directly with auditors on annual audits.
- Familiarity with cash flow forecasting and foreign exchange management.
- Strong process orientation with ability to identify and implement improvements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, effective across geographies and cross-functional leadership teams.
- Toronto-based candidate preferred; Spanish proficiency is an asset.
