We are seeking a qualified professional to join our Corporate Tax team as a Consultant, International Tax. This role reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Tax & Treasury and focuses on managing international tax compliance, evaluating income tax impacts related to foreign subsidiaries, and executing global tax planning strategies. Experience with SAP and reporting tools is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- International Tax Compliance: Review corporate income tax and indirect tax returns for foreign subsidiaries, ensuring adherence to statutory reporting requirements.
- Tax Provision Preparation: Prepare and review legal entity tax provisions in accordance with US GAAP.
- Intercompany Balance Management: Monitor and manage intercompany balances to resolve outstanding issues.
- Corporate Structure Optimization: Streamline international corporate organizational structure by identifying and reducing redundant entities.
- Permanent Establishment Assessment: Evaluate permanent establishment risks as the company expands internationally.
- Withholding Tax Management: Identify and manage withholding tax considerations related to business agreements, optimizing foreign tax payments.
- International Tax Audits: Manage international tax audits and collaborate with the broader Corporate Tax team to respond to queries.
- M&A Support: Assist with global mergers and acquisitions activities, including tax due diligence, transaction structuring, and agreement review.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Engage in additional income tax projects as required.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 8+ years of combined corporate tax experience in industry and public accounting, with a strong record in international tax compliance and strategy.
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation with CPA In-Depth Tax Course completion or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in a multinational environment.
- Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.

- Tax Return Reviews: Complete thorough reviews of corporate income and indirect tax returns for foreign subsidiaries to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Tax Provision Reports: Prepare accurate tax provision reports consistent with US GAAP for inclusion in year-end financial statements.
- Intercompany Account Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations of intercompany accounts to resolve any outstanding balances prior to year-end.
- Structural Optimization Plan: Present a detailed plan to streamline the corporate structure, recommending entities for potential consolidation or dissolution.
- Permanent Establishment Analysis: Provide detailed analyses on permanent establishment risks in foreign markets, including mitigation recommendations.
- Withholding Tax Review: Evaluate agreements for withholding tax implications and implement strategies to optimize foreign tax efficiency.
- Audit Preparedness: Compile documentation and proactive responses for anticipated queries from international tax authorities.
- M&A Tax Integration: Support tax due diligence and post-acquisition integration activities for completed mergers or acquisitions.
- Process Improvement Recommendations: Propose enhancements to current tax compliance and reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
